1) What was the reason you began a Dreamwidth or LiveJournal account (or both)?

Volunteered for WisCon in 2007, clearly LJ was where everything was Happening. Took me a year to figure out the culture. Moved to DW on 1 May 2009.

2) How many DW or LJ communities do you subscribe to?

79! Most are evidently dormant. (DW comms never die.)

3) Do you have a favorite community or one you check out often to see what's new?

I love the questions and answers at little_details, where writers seek specifics about an infinite assortment of facts: paint manufacturing, historical Chinese tornadoes, NZ slang for three examples.

4) How did you pick your user name?

It’s a riff on my wallet name which I’ve been using it since 2001.

5) If you could change your user name, would you?

Nope.

Meus deuses eu só entrei no fandom em 2011 e mesmo assim levei anos para estar no lj ou dw me sinto uma noob perto de vocês que estão aqui desde que tudo era mato.

And yet 2011 is 15 years ago. You're no noob.

Mas ainda me sinto assim. Enquanto alguns estavam criando fics no ano que nasci, outros já estavam publicando livros. Enquanto eu tomava toddynho e comia salgadinhos por volta dos anos 2000s, tinha gente ganhando prêmios em vários concursos. Quando entrei já havia um mundo todo de fics, artes e comunidades. Eu entrei aqui meio tarde e mesmo já estando há tanto tempo ainda me sinto muito verde num mundo de tantos pés de frutas maduras.

Aw, I used to frequent the little_details LJ comm back in the day! I remember pissing people off as a dumb high schooler who wasn't as good at research for the horrible diseases I wanted to give my blorbos yet as they wanted me to be. 😂
