Analytical Bias: as fundamental as words
Thursday, May 15th, 2008 03:31 pmI'm busy preparing for
wiscon. I should be printing signs and writing moderator guidelines and such. Instead I'm skipping among LJ-users so I might be able to actually talk to people.
Three hops led me to this exceptionally useful rant re the ubiquity and utility of "bias".
Participating in WisCon has taught me so much about the uses and abuses of rhetoric. It's also been the intellectual environment I would have been eager to attend when I was not going to university as a young person. That we create this opportunity for ourselves--the good, the bad, the elegant, the uncomfortable--is delightful and rewarding. All that, plus new faces in many places. Wheeeeee!
