TheFridayFive ponders ”How To Dreamwidth”
Sunday, August 19th, 2018 04:36 pmI wrote these questions!
Do you like to reply to every comment in your journal?
I definitely try to, since the primary purpose of my journal is participating in the world. I like s-l-o-w conversations, which is why DW is the platform for me.
What type of post gets the most/least responses in your journal?
Polls! If you want traffic, post a poll (but then you need a paid account to do it). Second are “droll knows much” questions, especially when well phrased.
Media reviews get the least responses.
What do you do when a new person first comments in your journal?
I jump to their profile, see what we have in common. When there’s an overlap, I’ll mention it in my reply and follow them. When there isn’t an overlap, I’ll thank them for commenting.
When you’re reading someone else’s journal, do you read every comment before adding your own?
When there are fewer than 25 comments, yes. If there are more, I’ll skim the top level ones before putting in my two cents.
When is “too late” to reply to an entry?
NEVER! I back-read new folks all the time–I’ve piped up on six year old posts.
s-l-o-w conversations for the win
