Kage Baker for Free!
Friday, June 13th, 2008 08:41 amTor Books is drumming up excitement for their new web site with a Watch the Skies! campaign. Part of the hullabaloo is making a Tor title available each week for free download (in PDF, HTML, and Mobi (Palm) formats).
I'm proof that the creative commons folks are on to something: when I can sample a free download, I always leave a tip or buy the book. This week's treat is the first book in Kage Baker's Company series, and it's a good choice for the program. The Company books follow time-traveling immortals as they merrily sneak & bang their way through human-history-as-a-garage-sale, collecting the best artifacts for safe-keeping against a mysterious end-times. It's truly crack reading, and hey! the first one's free:
Download the HTML version of In the Garden of Iden.
