Panel Notes

Just back from a fun panel where three of us shared our book club experiences with two folks from think_galactic and a lively audience. There's a lot in common between us and the Chicago folks; a few differences might be worth discussing here or in person.

• They plan their reading list a year at a time
• They ask each person to start of with "name, overview opinion on reading, any points you want to discuss"
• They tend to avoid brand new books to keep the cost low for poorer members; we may inadvertently have been shutting some people out by reading newer books (although we do work hard at making loaners available).
