  1. Where did you go the last time you took an airplane ride? San Francisco for FogCon 1.

  2. Are you a nervous flyer or a comfortable flyer? Although I first flew age six weeks, I hates it now. Uncomfortable seats, inaccessible bathrooms, and worst of all: Security.

  3. Window seat or aisle seat? Window, please.

  4. What is the worst experience you’ve had flying? Turbulence over the Atlantic Ocean in a turboprop with ~26 other people. Five were dedicated to finishing all their liquor before landing so they wouldn’t have to pay import duties. Two words: Airborne vomit.

  5. What is the best experience you’ve had flying? East YVR -> ORD (Vancouver BC to Chicago IL). Daylight flight, totally clear the entire time, the landscape was a beautiful quilt of mountains, cities, farms and forests.

Being the 70s, I made friends with a stranger in the airport, and spent a couple days at her commune.

That's excellent.

See, this is what qualifies as a genuinely horrible flying story! Yuck.

Reading that reminded me that there used to be those bags on airplanes--are they still there? I haven't seen them in a while, though I haven't been looking.

Fun to read your responses! M.
