Swinging back into life in the city
Friday, 17 August 2018 10:28 am…is harder than usual, because life up north was so lovely.
Let me show you
That’s one of thousands of lawn decorations (or as we call it in these parts, yardart) bedecking the natural food store Golden Harvest in Rhinelander, WI.
The top foot of the lake is deliciously warm when the sun’s out. The rest is significantly colder. As always, horizontal is best.
Queen of every park she surveys.

Warmer than usual
Date: 19/08/2018 04:05 pm (UTC)I walked in the first day, and realized I'd never do it again, so leapt off the end to forestall any second thoughts.
But when the sun was out, the top foot was almost as warm as my local 84°F pool. Below that, things got cold very quickly. This made each stroke an exploration in sensory change. It was also quite clear, which was a little scary when the schools of little fish came in view. They manage to both pinch & punch when encountering a white human thigh.
