Shiny New Fandom: Good Omens

I’m watching Good Omens because it seems to be on all my fannish friends’ journals. Any news on the smush name for Crowley/Aziraphale?

I’m innocent of the book, and the first episode (streaming on Amazon in the US) didn’t immediately grab me.

But! Fandom is delivering.

For example, marthawells linked me to this awesome G.O. fanvid, which goes beyond the Crowley/Aziraphale ship to many more characters, and attains delightful perfection at the end with synchronized audio and video finger snapping.

I mean, "ineffable" I get, but who put those two concepts together in that sonorous fashion?

aw I'm glad you're enjoying the fandom!

I chose my pseud back in my original Good Omens fandom days, back in 2002-2003, because there isn't a collective noun for angels and demons or ethereal/occult beings. So to me, at least, their ship name is thingswithwings. :D

zomg, Good Omens. I've been scarfing down fic like a madwoman. I read the book a while ago (one of my favorites), and I gotta say that Tennant and Sheen wildly exceeded my expectations for the TV program. I can see where it might not grab you as hard if you haven't read the book, but I encourage you to give it another go.

Tennant and Sheen are great, and it's certainly got an excellent soundtrack.

I was surprised that I found it slow--I fell asleep twice. Seemed like 4 episodes worth of content in a 6-episode container.

Good Omens was one of my first fandoms, actually! And the fandom in which I wrote my very first piece of fan fiction. Am partway through watching the miniseries, and I'm enjoying it a lot while simultaneously having mixed feelings. More on that soon.

I mostly see 'ineffable husbands', but there's also a smattering of 'azcrow' floating about.

I love that vid so much, I've watched it like three times. (I, uh, watched the show after only reading the book once fifteen years ago and ended up plummeting headfirst into the fandom so hard I made a tumblr for the first time in several years solely so I could collect a dragon hoard of Aziraphale and Crowley content.) (I have like fifteen WIPs and I've watched the show six times and read the book again. It has entirely taken over my brain.)
