  Are my favorite part of living on a planet. I’ve enjoyed watching them all my life. Their taxonomy in English is surprisingly recent (1802) and refreshingly old-fashioned (clearly from a time before photographs).

  Will I be needing a USB A to A in my lifetime? No. Can I throw it away? No.

• glue
  Happy memories of chewing bits of mucilage in primary school. The internet tells me it’s edible—a good thing—and proteinaceous!

  I so miss my Margheritas since changing to a gluten-free diet. A local cafe & food cart does offer a "Fathead Flatbread Crust made from organic eggs, cheese, and almond flour," which is a wonder in itself, but it doesn’t have the stretchy chew of a nice pizza crust.

  When you get a new carbon-steel wok at an Asian food store, they tell you to season it by baking it in the oven with food oil. Twice I’ve smoke bombed my kitchen resulting in a useless wok. The "Woks of Life" website provides an alternative method which probably works better.

  I’ve always loved comics: starting with Jughead then moving to the "funny pages," where I followed Pogo, then Charlie Brown, then Doonesbury. (The funny pages were part of the daily or weekly newspaper, with serialized 4-panel comics, word games, and other pastimes.) Given my groaning bookshelves, comics are the only physical reading I buy anymore.

• noodles
  I loved my mother’s super simple mac’n’cheese: boil macaroni, drain, toss with grated cheese and a tablespoon-or-so of ketchup. The joys of youth!

My wife was just showing me a conjoined cherry she found, proudly noting the two pits!

Those are nicely thematic cherries! Although until I saw the picture, I thought you meant nine cherries were conjoined to one another, like a kind of cherry-king.
