Monday, June 15th, 2020 03:28 pmThanks to
runpunkrun, who alerted me to the fascinating conversation-in-progress about
Named Markup Formats

roadrunnertwice is planning out the replumbing of the editor we use to make and reply to posts. I'm thrilled that this will include supporting markdown for posts and comments. There are many other benefits, including not borking antique @mentions.
If you use a client to post here, and particularly if you use [eta: extensive precise HTML to create complex formats] in your posts, please check out the discussion.
ETA! Now Implemented on the nifty dropdown menu after the subject line:
- casual html
- markdown
- raw html

Date: 2020-06-15 11:12 pm (UTC)They realize their error in how they introduced @mentions -- people typed @jesse_the_k to mean
They're trying to figure how to prevent that from happening again. They want to offer easy ways for DW to support all the posts -- what you've been making all along, me and my markdown fixation, all the ways.
