That time of the year

When the days are getting shorter. Good news is I get eleven minutes more daylight up north. These cirrus fibratus clouds extend their dark gray parallel lines from the horizon of dark green pines, mixed with hints of orange and yellow to the west. Gentle waves of the lake parallel the clouds, which frankly makes me a little dizzy if I look too long.

I spent more Up North time when I was younger, because my parents had a friend with a cabin and also they had a small RV. A fond sensory memory is autumn camping Up North and coming outside in a big flannel shirt to settle in by a wood campfire. Mmm, such a good smell.

It is. Also I'm old enough to sit on the couch writing this reply while intermittently admiring the lake through our windows. (IOW, I don't have to be Outdoorsy.)

Wow, that's impressive. I have a 2nd gen iPhone SE, and I can tell the camera isn't that great for landscapes, so I'm slightly tempted to upgrade... I agree about the best camera being the one that's always there.
