Thanks for the great links in this post! I had a long discussion about this with the director of my library just this week. We are balancing the reality of difficult budget cuts with the need to "keep up" and provide a wider range of ebooks (both our own collection and the recommendations I make to patrons, such as Project Gutenberg, etc.) -- purchasing e-readers for library patrons to check out is something desirable, but as of yet no consensus about which e-readers to buy.
