I'm in love! and here's why: This fabulous captioned video. Its message is vital: a way to rethink our approach to sex.
Karen B K Chan compares sex to musical jamming (based on Towards a Performance Model of Sex by T M Millar). Like jamming, sex requires collaboration, tuning into other people, practice, practice, practice. She positively explains why any coercive sex is a losing proposition, and why sex positivity means making beautiful music together. She uses very accessible language — I can imagine it making sense to any musical kid, and unmusical 11-year-olds.
But that's not all!
The medium is stunning: stop-motion animation of Chang drawing concrete and abstract images that support her message. The visual presentation is wicked sexy. The music is, of course, a reinterpretation of Coltrane's A Love Supreme.
I can't imagine a better way to spend six minutes.
