Will I See You at WisCon 40?
Thursday, 12 May 2016 12:37 pmI’m looking forward to meeting new folks and catching up with you. I want to prevent any other person from the loneliness and befuddlement I felt at my first two WisCons. I like talking to strangers and I’d be tickled to serve as a first-timer guide.
I noped out of all volunteering, so my time is free between 8:30am and 9:30pm. I live in town, so if you're early or late to the con, I'd be happy to meet then.If you prefer low-key, in my hotel room, the K Café will serve many varieties of tea. I’m also happy to share time indoors or out, stroll the city, hide in the Capitol, or gawk at the construction surrounding the hotel.
If you're a planner:
At WisCon
I don't see email during WisCon, so it's better to...
- Tweet a direct message to @
jesse_the_k
- Connect via SMS text: six oh eight six nine eight seven eight seven eight
- Write a note and tack it to the con’s Magic Message Board.
- Talk with a Registration volunteer and leave a message. Between the powerchair and the hat, I'm memorable. I always say hi to the Reg Desk when I'm on 2nd floor.

Date: 14/05/2016 04:04 pm (UTC)Happy to help with Tiptree auction. I'm great at keyboarding; establishing minimum prices; pinning prices on things. Slow & v neat at handwriting; terrible at making displays.

Date: 14/05/2016 04:18 pm (UTC)If you're interested in a wow, in Madison?1! moment, the WID building, funded by Cisco, is kinda cool:
http://wid.wisc.edu/about/faq/
It occupies the entire block between (clockwise) Univ., Orchard, W Johnson & Randall.
We could hop a bus down there, or take a cab, or if you're up for it, even walk (easier for me to say).
OTOH, if you're interested in a wow, in Madison?1! meal, in the past year at least five highrise buildings have mushroomed in State St corridor, and they tend to have ridic expensive restaurants as their first-floor occupants. I haven't tried any, because I get the best food at home, but this would be a great excuse.
Concourse or Michelangelo's are also good.
(are those dealy-boppers real or photoshop? in anycase, a good look on you. However, a tiara would be even better. A black & silver tiara. Mmmmm.)

Date: 17/05/2016 10:56 pm (UTC)Will you be staying in the hotel or commuting? Do you know about the Union Cab vouchers?
I've just got my hands on the Program App. I'm attempting to whittle down to three choices for each time period ;) I love this problem.

Date: 18/05/2016 03:01 am (UTC)I am up such a delightful creek when it comes to figuring out which panels to go to, good gosh. Between the two I'm *on* and a generous handful of others, it's going to be a busy weekend. :) I live within walking distance, which is fortunate and how. No cab vouchers needed, unless I drink faaaaar too much of Chris's marvelous Scribe Agency brew on Saturday night, and I've wobbled home after indulging at that particular party before, so. :) I'll pass the cab voucher info to a friend over on the east side, though. Thanks!
