By road and by foot to Tuktoyaktuk

I've always enjoyed winter weather, and that's one of the reasons I was drawn to Due South. Canonically, Fraser grew up in Tuktoyaktuk, the "End of the Road" coastal hamlet on the Beaufort Sea.
I encountered Tuk again today in Nadim Roberts' heartbreaking essay from GRANTA. They've built a hard road highway from Inuvik to Tuk; the article is about why Tuk residents call it "Bernard's Highway."
This story isn't easy to read. It details the abuse heaped on Native children kidnapped into the residential school system, with details of their lives and deaths.
