Why Bella, Why?

Spring has actually arrived! The maple trees are dropping green pollen all over the streets, there are teeny buds on the oaks, the tulips are in full bloom, and we're due for a freeze tonight.

Bella is delighted that the earthworms are wiggling their way into the sunshine. She likes to gnaw on them for a while and then rub the mess on her face.

How's the progress of spring in your corner of the planet? Do your pets do disgusting things?

Our dogs eat poop and grass and then occasionally vomit it up again in the couch...but lo, I am not the dog owner and do not have to deal with it!

Spring is otherwise delightful, though!

May frosts, hmm. No, not where I am, although definitely further north in Sweden!

Ugh, pollen. Here it's juniper; apparently we exceeded 2000 grains per cubic meter of air on April 25, and I don't know much about these measurements but my eyes, nose, and throat sure do!

Because our house has so many large windows, we have a problem with birds flying into the windows and either temporarily stunning themselves, or killing themselves (fortunately only for a few weeks in the spring and in the fall). At the sound of a bump Lucy runs immediately to the window and starts making the chitter noise that means "I see prey and I want it!" She also does this when there are birds outside doing birdy things, which means, a lot of the time.

Rocket chitters all the time at the birbs on the fire escape! She thinks I am pure evil for not letting her play with them. I explained they don't want to be her friends, but she remains skeptical.

Silly Bella! XD *pets her*

The fuzzy in the icon always got extra super sniffity curious when spring arrived. Everything was new and interesting, and his nose knew it! I used to tell him he had spring fever.

He did not get snorty, though he was known to snore like a freight train no matter the season (he also purred i.e. an occasional, while awake combination of snort/sigh/happiness, which was a ridiculously adorable quirk that I still wish I'd caught on video). He just got extra curious about everything revealed beneath the vanishing snowcover.

What is this spring you speak of? Cape Breton had snow last week.

No more than usual, my own pets, but check this video out: https://twitter.com/MrAndrewCotter/status/1255611151280484353?s=20

Spring, hurrah!

Aw, Bella. The pup we've been walking, Pup A, discovered some animal vomit--which I did not initially recognize because I am a city girl and don't know what to look for--and proceeded to try to eat it. YUCK!

Ah, dogs. They're such dogs. M.

Dutch does that scent-marking thing at the dog park. It is funny to see her put her cheek on the ground and run across the field that way. And I understand the idea of wanting to smell like the other dogs so they won't attack you. But when I think about what exactly she is rubbing her face in -- GAH!

Dogs and bodies, man. They are disgusting.

The cats are barfier than usual because they're getting to go outside and chomp grass. If I'm lucky, they barf before coming inside, but I'm... not always lucky.

... why do I have no cat icons? I really need to fix that.
