Thanks to brithistorian, who’s bringing back a meme I’ve never seen before. It’s five questions, but the Qs are personalized to your interests. I learned a lot about brithistorian from the answers!

What’s your favorite Whedonverse show?

Hmmm. I think Angel–I like the always present evil lurking in him, and seeing a “hunky” guy suffer was pleasing.

What are the best and worst things about WisCon being your local con?

Worst: the continual temptation to rejoin the comcon. When I see those good people around town, I regret not working with them. Best a (internal): if things get too much I can always take bus home. Best b (external): I sometimes get a chance to cook for my electric friends.

What’s so cool about blue heelers?

They are so damn smart. They deign to love–they’re almost feline in their unwillingness to submit. Aesthetically, the combination of white and black fur which defines the “blue” in heelers is super pretty. Their ears are as expressive as their eyes.

What’s your favorite tea?

What one feature that doesn’t exist now do you most wish wheelchair manufacturers would develop?

A lightweight battery pack for standard chairs. Almost half of my current chair’s 260lb weight is the pair of deep-cycle marine group 24 batteries–and the chair frame has to be heavy just to carry them. Electric cars are helping to improve batteries, and in addition there are folks working on propane and compressed-air power systems for chairs.

Yes, an Angel fan!! I found his redemption arc over the show so much more interesting than anything that happened to Buffy. And OMG, Fred and Wes and MY HEART. And, honestly, as an autistic person, I kinda identified with Illyria in a few ways. I mean, besides the "I am a superpowered demon" aspect. ;)

Honestly, I stopped giving a single fuck about Buffy when Tara died. And then Spike fell in love with Buffy and I went to "well, watching the show is a habit, but I don't give a fuck, so I'm not going to pay attention". I adore Spike both before and after what happened with Buffy, but the hate-lationship with Buffy ruined the character and show for me. It was such a gross, gross fucking relationship and, honestly, I've asked Jenn not to watch it while I'm around because it just... really hits close to some of my triggers. Once Spike made the leap to Angel, he became such a better character.

Ahh, thanks for the historical context.

They're remarkable hounds. Also challenging to train, require massive amounts of exercise, and stick so close to their person that "grumpy" is the best you'll get from one who's not yours.

They're also known as ACD--Australian Cattle Dogs--and they were bred to herd cattle across huge estates. They accomplish this by "muzzle punching"--hurling themselves at the steers' legs at high speed. *Big* heelers may weight 50 lbs, and they can control very large cattle. They can do 340° turns, using their tails to steer. Popular among agility circles as well.
